Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM provides emergency, inpatient and specialist outpatient services. Other specialist or surgical services such as Otorhinolaryngology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics & Traumatology, Psychiatric, Family Medicine and more can be found at PPUKM’s specialist clinics. There are a total of 1,054 beds in PPUKM, and more than 3,000 medical staff and employees provide comprehensive medical services.
After the examination, the doctor will arrange the patient to be hospitalized for observation according to the treatment needs. Hospital staff will contact the patient’s family to inform them of the patient’s admission and ask them to bring required items (personal changes and groceries).
Item 19 of “Patient Responsibilities” states that patients or their family members “cannot bring any non-halal food into Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM“, and the hospital only provides halal food.
At the time of admission, you need to show the patient’s documents:

- Social Welfare Card (Oku Card)
- Pension card
- School Letter
- Guarantee Letter

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM is a government hospital, where citizens can enjoy public healthcare services. Foreigners or foreign tourists are advised to purchase medical insurance during their stay in Malaysia.
Government hospitals do not have cooperative insurance companies, only Panel Hospitals* have them but government hospitals are not panel hospitals. Patients need to pay first and then file a claim with their own insurance company.
