The Kuala Lumpur General Hospital provides emergency & trauma services, inpatient services and specialist outpatient services. General medicine, general surgery, plastic & reconstructive surgery, psychiatry, urology, oral & maxillofacial surgery are available at their specialist outpatient clinics.
The Kuala Lumpur General Hospital is now the largest hospital under the Ministry of Health of Malaysia and is considered to be one of the biggest in Asia. It is a government tertiary referral hospital with 83 wards and 2300 beds. After examining you, your doctor may require you to be warded.
This is to facilitate further treatment of your illness. You are advised not to go home but go directly for admission. Clinic staff will contact your family member -informing them about your admission and to bring your things. Prior to your admission, you are required to register at the Admission Counter, which is located next to the Accident & Emergency Department. You need to show your:
Business hours depend on Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm). You can make an appointment online before going. The fee is charged according to the different needs of patients. Patients or hospital staff make an appointment directly by calling the Registration Counter of the Clinic.
Appointments can also be made by a phone call (03 2615 5555 ext: 1131/1130) from 2 to 4 pm (Monday-Thursday) and 3 to 4 pm (Friday), after you have received your referral letter for new or follow-up patient.

Government hospitals do not have cooperative insurance companies, only Panel Hospitals have them but government hospitals are not panel hospitals. Patients need to pay first and then file a claim with their own insurance company.
