COVID-19 saliva test is recommended before visiting for safety of the patients. Visitors must update COVID-19 status in MySejahtera. Only visitors, who are classified as low risk and have no Symptom, can enter the ward.
Tung Shin Hospital is a 225 bedded hospital that provides inpatient and specialist outpatient services and 24-hour accident and emergency services. It is also the first hospital in Malaysia that provides holistic healthcare through modern Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The admission counter is operating 24 hours. The inpatient admission flow of Tung Shin is as follow:
- Proceed to the admission counter located at ground floor with the admission form given by the doctor.
- Pay the required deposit using cash, debit / credit card, bank draft or online transfer.
- Their patient service assistant will meet you at the waiting area and guide you to your ward.

- Original MyKad for Malaysian and original passport for foreign patient
- If you are registering your child (below 12 years old), MyKid or birth certificate is required
- Guarantee Letter (GL) or medical insurance card, if applicable.
Deposit
- All admissions require a deposit and the amount varies depending on the reason for admission.
- The deposit can be made by cash, debit / credit cards, bank draft or online transfer.
Room choices
- Self-paying patients may choose their preferred room type (subject to room availability).
- Patients using Guarantee Letter (GL) will be allocated to a room based on room entitlement as stated on the GL (subject to room availability). You may also choose to upgrade your room by paying the difference of room rate.
The outpatient flow of general clinic is as follow:
- Patients may walk-in or make an appointment before visiting.
- Register at the outpatient counter once arrived.
- After registration, please wait outside the respective clinic until the clinic assistant calls your name.
- After the consultation, the clinic assistant will direct you to make payment at the Cashier Counter and collect medications at Pharmacy.

- If you are registering your child (below 12 years old), MyKid or birth certificate is required.
- A valid medical insurance card if applicable.
- Referral letter and relevant medical reports, if any.
The specialist clinic of the hospital is at 1st Floor, WMD. The Specialist Clinics’ operating hours may vary depending on the doctor’s schedule. Kindly check with them at Customer Service Department or Appointment Counter for appointment booking. Following is the operating hours of the specialist clinic:
- Mondays to Fridays: 8.00am to 5.00pm
- Saturdays: 8.00am to 1.00pm
- Sundays and Public Holidays: Closed

How to apply for Financial Assistance?
Patients will be referred to Patient Welfare Personnel for further assessment on eligibility if they require financial assistance. The amount of help given varies depending on the various factors such as the bill size, financial circumstances of the patients and their family. Alternatively, patient may apply through the following:
Step 1: Obtain an Application Form from the Tung Shin Welfare Unit.
Step 2: You and your immediate family members are required to declare your household income, expenditure and furnish the following documents:
- Payslip / letter of certificate from employment
- Remuneration income tax declaration form
- Other relevant supporting documents
Step 3: Our Patient Welfare Personnel will process the necessary documents and inform you of the status of your application.
